Carlos Condit Steps Aside, Nick Diaz Will Meet GSP on Superbowl Weekend

UFC President Dana White has revealed that former Strikeforce welterweight champion, Nick Diaz will get the next shot at Georges St-Pierre for the UFC welterweight championship after Carlos Condit agreed to step aside.

White, speaking at the UFC 137 post-fight press conference, said:

“I’ve known GSP since 2004, he’s one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. GSP flipped out tonight when Nick was in the ring. Nick needs motivation, he’s got it. He’s gonna fight GSP. Carlos Condit has agreed to step aside. We’re hoping to do this Super Bowl weekend.”

The fight is expected to go down on Super Bowl weekend, with Condit also on the card against another top contender at 170 pounds.
