Brad Tavares Injured, Jeff Curran vs. Scott Jorgensen Bumped to Main Card

UFC middleweight prospect, Brad Tavares has been forced out of his UFC 137 bout with promotional newcomer, Dustin Jacoby. Another newcomer to the octagon, Clifford Starks has stepped up to replace the former TUF cast member. The Las Vegas based promotion revealed the news today, adding Jacoby and Starks will now take place on the preliminary card of the evening.

Starks, who has a 7-0 record since beginning his professional career in mixed martial arts, all seven of those wins on the regional circuit, takes this fight on just one weeks notice. Taking it’s place on the main card of the evening is the bantamweight show down between former WEC title contender, Scott Jorgensen and octagon returnee, Jeff Curran.

Curran lost four-fights straight inside the cage which saw him cut from the UFC roster. Since that time he has gone 4-1 including wins in his last two fights and has been campaigning for the UFC to give him a chance via his Twitter page. Scott Jorgensen was the top contender at 135lbs but ran into a brick wall named Dominick Cruz losing that fight convincingly. He rebounded impressively by knocking out Ken Stone in his first official UFC bout, which gave him six wins in seven fights.
