Antonio McKee’s UFC career cut short following loss to Jacob Volkmann

40 year old lightweight, Antonio McKee gets the old one and done deal with the UFC after it was confirmed that he had been cut from the UFC roster following his January 1st loss to Jacob Volkmann at UFC 125.

McKee had done his best to hype up the fight with talk trash, even to go as far as looking past Volkmann and saying he would be the UFC lightweight champion by the end of 2011 in the build-up to the fight, but sadly it all came crashing down after Volkmann repeatedly scored takedowns and ultimately the win.

The loss was McKee’s first since February 2003 and having signed a four-fight deal with the Las Vegas promotion the move has to come as somewhat of a surprise to fans.
