Chuck Liddell: “Jake Shields will take Georges St-Pierre down and finish him”

Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Chuck Liddell has predicted that his close friend and former training partner, Jake Shields will become the new UFC welterweight champion of the world, when he takes Georges St-Pierre down at UFC 129 and finishes him.

Liddell, speaking via MMAFighting.com, said:

“I’m siding with Jake. Jake’s going to have to take him down. I’m expecting him to be in great shape for the fight. He’ll be in great shape for GSP. But yeah, I expect him to take him down and finish him.”

“He had athletic ability, I knew he was very tough and he always wanted to work. He was always in the gym working on new things, working with people. We’d always say, ‘Relax, you have a fight in a couple days. Just relax.’”
