UFC 128 SpikeTV Prelims: Cane/Vemola and Barboza/Njokuani

The UFC 128 prelim show on SPIKE TV has been boked for next month’s event from Las Vegas, Nevada as light heavyweight sluggers, Luiz Cane and Karlos Vemola and lightweight bangers, Edson Barboza and Anthony Njokuani square off. It is unclear at this point whether any of the additional preliminary card bouts will feature on Facebook.

Cane is looking for a win after back-to-back losses at the hands of former PRIDE vet, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and French kickboxer, Cyril Diabate over a six month period. Prior to that he’d defeated the likes of Jason Lambert, Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou and Steve Cantwell. Vemola made his octagon debut in the heavyweight division and was controlled by Jon Madsen on the ground. A drop to 205 pounds saw Vemola destroying Seth Petruzelli in the very first round at UFC 122 in November.

Barboza added to his win streak, making it seven straight – all of which have come inside the distance – with an impressive UFC debut, defeating Mike Lullo in the thrid round via TKO in November. Njokuani went 4-3 inside the WEC cage, with all four of his wins coming via TKO. The Nigerian fighter isn’t short on experience as he looks to make an impressive octagon debut.
