Dana White: “We’ve sold 55,000 tickets in our first stadium event in Toronto”

UFC President, Dana White has today revealed the promotion has sold a huge 55,000 tickets for their forthcoming UFC 129 event in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, smashing almost every single record the promotion has at this stage.

The event features UFC welterweight champion, Georges St-Pierre going head-to-head with former Strikeforce middleweight champion, Jake Shields in the main event of the evening and UFC featherweight champion, Jose Aldo squaring off against Canadian, Mark Hominick in the co-main event, as well as former 205 pound champions, Randy Couture and Lyoto Machida facing off.

White, speaking today via a press release, said:

“UFC continues to set new milestones. We’ve sold 55,000 tickets in our first stadium event in Toronto and we continue to take the UFC to the next level.”
