Tim Kennedy vs. Melvin Manhoef official for Strikeforce in Columbus, Ohio on March 5th

The rumoured middleweight showdown between former title contender, Tim Kennedy and heavy hitting Dutch kickboxer, Melvin Manhoef has been made official today for the forthcoming Strikeforce event on March 5th in Columbus, Ohio. The promotion today announced the fight was official via its website.

Kennedy seen his four fight winning streak, hich included a first round submission win over Trevor Prangley, come to an end when he lost a five-round decision to Strikeforce middleweight champion, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza back in August.

Manhoef has lost four of his last six fights against top-level competitors in Gegard Mousasi, Paulo Filho, Robbie Lawler, and last time out Tatsuya Mizuno at Dream.15. He will be looking to get his first win under the Strikeforce banner after losing to above mentioned, Robbie Lawler in January 2010 via first round knockout.
