WEC 48: Brad Pickett vs. Demetrious Johnson official for prelims

WEC officials today announced a preliminary bantamweight bout between British veteran Brad Pickett (18-4 MMA, 1-0 WEC) and WEC newcomer Demetrious Johnson (5-0 MMA, 0-0 WEC).

WEC 48 marks the WEC’s pay-per-view debut and takes place at ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California on April 24th, 2010.

Pickett made his WEC debut in December and earning a $10,000 “Submission of the Night” bonus when he stopped Kyle Dietz with a second-round Peruvian necktie.

Johnson makes his promotional debut with a perfect 5-0 record with five first-round stoppages. He last defeated Jesse Brock (10-4 at the time) via 66-second head kick at an Alaska Fighting Championships event.
