Urijah Faber vs. Takeya Mizugaki at WEC 52 in Las Vegas, Nevada

Urijah Faber’s much anticipated bantamweight debut against Takeya Mizugaki has finally been confirmed for WEC 52 at The Pearl at the Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 11th, 2010 after WEC General Manager, Reed Harris made it official. Other locations, including Faber’s hometown of Sacramento were considered to host the event.

Faber, currently 23-4 MMA, 8-3 WEC, held the featherweight title for two years and defended it five times, before losing it to Mike Brown in 2008. He will now dropped down a division after challenging featherweight champion, Jose Aldo at WEC 48 in April. “The California Kid” has been up and down with two wins over Jens Pulver and Raphael Assuncao mixed between two losses to Mike Brown and one at the hands of Jose Aldo.

Mizugaki, currently 13-4-2 MMA, 2-2 WEC, debuted at WEC 40 last year but was outpointed by Miguel Torres. A win over Jeff Curran was then followed by another decision loss to Scott Jorgensen at WEC 45 in December 2009. Most recently he scored a unanimous decision victory over Rani Yahya at WEC 48.
