UFC Counter Progam: Chuck Liddell vs. Rich Franklin on April 17th

Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell looks to set his sights on former UFC middleweight champion, Rich Franklin and not Tito Ortiz in his next octagon appearence on a yet to be announced card set for April 17th in Nashville, Tennessee.

A source close to the situation revealed the news earlier this week to Fighters Only Magazine, adding that “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” is not sidelined due to injury but instead “something that may significantly impact his future as a fighter.”

The April 17th event is set to go head-to-head with the Strikeforce event which will also taking place in Nashville, Tennessee. This time Dana White is not playing around not only is the UFC competing for television viewers, but a live audience as well.

According to the report, the UFC have until Thursday to make the application to the appropriate athletic commission.
