UFC 118: Edgar vs. Penn II Official Salaries, Injuries and Medical Suspensions; Toney earns $500,000 for 3 and a half mins

Heavyweight boxing champion, James Toney picked up an incredible half a million dollars for his three and a half minutes inside the octagon, most of which was spent on his back eating punches and fending off submission attempts from Randy Couture.

Couture himself picked up $250,000 for his efforts, while former lightweight champion, BJ Penn took home $150,000 despite losing to Frankie Edgar who earned $96,000.

Other big winners included Nate Diaz who earned $120,000, which included a $60,000 “Fight of the Night” bonus for defeating Marcus Davis who pocketed $91,000 for his part in the “Fight of the Night” honors.

The Massachusetts State Athletic Commission today released the medical suspensions for fighters who competed on the UFC 118 card last weekend in Boston, with the longest mandatory suspension being 60 days.

– Gray Maynard was suspended for 30 days, with no contact for 21 days.
– Kenny Florian was suspended for 45 days, with no contact for 30 days
– Nate Diaz was suspended for 60 days. He is suspended for 180 days if he has a nasal fracture.
– Marcus Davis was suspended for 60 days and requires a CT scan for reinstatement.
– Gabe Ruediger was suspended for 30 days, with no contact for 21 days.
– Dan Miller was suspended for 30 days, with no contact for 21 days.
– John Salter was suspended for 30 days, with no contact for 21 days. He is suspended for 180 days if his left hand is fractured.
– Greg Soto was suspended for 45 days.
– Nick Osipczak was suspended for 30 days, with no contact for 21 days.
– Amilcar Alves was suspended 30 days, with no contact for 21 days.
