Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Noons II Salaries, Injuries, and Medical Suspensions

The salaries for this past weekend’s Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Noons II event have been released, with current welterweight champion, Nick Diaz and former lightweight title holder, Josh Thomson picking up $50,000 each for their efforts.

Brazilian lightweight, Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante picked up $40,000 while poor old K.J. Noons pocketed a meagre $10,000. Newly crowned 135 pound women’s champion, Marloes Coenen took home $3,000.

A trio of top Strikeforce fighters have all been suspended from action for six months each by the California State Athletic Commission. The three men in question are K.J. Noons (left-thumb and left-mandible fractures), Josh Thomson (right-hand fracture and left-knee injury) and Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante (possible rotator-cuff tear).

Nick Diaz: Suspended 60 days with no contact for 60 days due to multiple facial lacerations
K.J. Noons: Suspended for 180 days with no contact for 180 days due to left-thumb and left-mandible (jaw) fractures.
Josh Thomson: Suspended for 180 days with no contact for 60 days due to right-hand fracture and left-knee injury.
Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante: Suspended for 180 days with no contact for 60 days due to a possible rotator-cuff tear.
Andre Galvao: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days for precautionary reasons
David Marshall: Suspended for 60 days with no contact for 60 days due to facial lacerations, though he can be cleared early by a physician
Luis Mendoza: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days for precautionary reasons
