Reed Harris hints title unification between UFC/WEC lightweight champs

WEC General Manager, Reed Harris has hinted at the possibility of seeing the WEC’s lightweight champion taking on the UFC’s lightweight champion, with rumours that both divisions will soon become one.

Harris, speaking via Fighters Only Magazine, said:

“Yeah I can. We have talked about that as well. There are no immediate plans but we got Ben Henderson (12-1-0) who is an outstanding champion, I’ve got a guy Anthony Pettis (11-1-0) coming up. We’ve got some really, really, solid 155lb’ers. I’ve talked to Dana about it, and we’ve joked around about it, ‘maybe my guy could beat your guy’ and all that stuff – never say never – it sounds cliché, but we really do look at what the fans want. If the fans wanted to see it I think we’d do our best to make it happen.”
