Patrick Cote and Gabriel Gonzaga released by the UFC after recent losses

Former UFC middleweight number one contender, Patrick Cote and former UFC heavyweight title contender, Gabriel Gonzaga have both disappointingly been released from thier contracts with the promotion.

Cote released after losing three fights in a row to Anderson Silva, Alan Belcher, and Tom Lawlor over the last two years and Gonzaga after losing 3 out of his last 4 fights to Shane Carwin, Junior dos Santos, and most recently Brendan Schaub this past weekend at UFC 121.

Cote, speaking via his Twitter account, said:

“I had a little hope, but finally got the release word from the UFC. It’s been an awesome experience, I’ll be back!”

Gonzaga, spaeking via his Twitter account, said:

“Official now – Out of UFC – Thanks for all your support – back to normal life and BJJ forever.”
