Nate Diaz wants nothing but top three contenders, specifically Gray Maynard

TUF 5 lightweight winner, Nate Diaz continued to climb the ladder in the UFC this past weekend with an impressive third round submission win over Marcus Davis at UFC 118 in Boston, Massachusetts, now Diaz wants nothing but top three contenders, specifically Gray Maynard.

Diaz, speaking at the post fight press conference, said:

“Whatever they want to do with me, I’m fine. I’d like to get someone in the top three contenders at either lightweight or welterweight rather than against some tough guy that’s not as popular or not as high in the rankings. I want to try and get a belt here sometime.”

“I’d like to fight Gray before he gets a title shot if that would be possible. I don’t think he did too much against me.”

UFC President, Dana White intervened and said:

“That’s not possible right now. That would suck for Gray. That would be twice in a row that we did that to him and that’s not going to happen.”
