Mike “Quick” Swick goes under the knife

UFC welterweight, Mike “Quick” Swick has undergone surgery on his elbow as expected this week to fix damage sustained during his UFC 109 loss to Paulo Thiago.

Via Facebook:

“I was suppost to fight Matt Serra at UFC Fight Nights 22 but I wont be able to, I need surgery on my arm.”

Swick also posted via his Twitter page that doctors had detected bone spurs and fragments, inflammation and possible nerve damage. He added that it would will need it scoped and possibly have a nerve re-routed.

Swick is currently serving a medical suspension issued by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for the injury and must be cleared by an orthopedist before returning to action in August at the earliest.
