Jose Aldo vs. Josh Grispi at UFC 125 in Las Vegas, Nevada

Newly appointed UFC featherweight champion, Jose Aldo appears to defend his title against top rated and new number one contender, Josh Grispi on the UFC 125 card set in Las Vegas, Nevada in January 1st, 2010.

Aldo emerged as one of the best “pound for pound” fighters on the planet in the past couple of years, destroying the likes of Cub Swanson, Mike Brown, Urijah Faber and most recently, Manny Gamburyan.

It’s a strange move as far as Grispi is concerned when you consider he’s currently scheduled to face Erik Koch at WEC 52 next month. Chances are if this is true he’ll be pulled from the fight and replaced.

Soon to be UFC featherweight, Erik Koch has confirmed the news. Koch, speaking via ProMMANow.com, said:

“It sucks. All I’ve heard is they haven’t found anybody yet. It’s part of the business. I’m going to keep as if I’m fighting Grispi and I have the biggest fight of my life coming up.”
