John Alessio had to turn down a UFC contract due to other obligations

Former UFC and WEC star, John Alessio has revealed he had to turn down a fight with the UFC due to contractual obligations to compete in the United Glory welterweight tournament in Holland early next year.

Alessio, speaking via his Facebook page, said:

“I am extremely honoured that after working so hard the last year and a half that I finally got my call from the UFC, that’s right I was offered a fight but unfortunately with United-Glory tournament contract in place I am unable to accept UFC fight, UFC will have to be put on hold until I win the tourney! thank you everyone for your support…. all my family, friends and fans!!!!!!!!!”
