Jason MacDonald back on the shelf after injury, replaced by Jesse Bongfeldt at UFC 124

UFC middleweight crock, Jason MacDonald has been forced to pull out of his UFC 124 showdown with Rafael “Sapo” Natal on December 11th due to an unknown injury and has already been replaced by fellow Canadian, Jesse Bongfeldt.

The news was revealed to MMAWeekly.com on Tuesday night by Dominance MMA, Natal’s management group.

Bongfeldt makes his octagon debut on the back of a seven fight winning streak, although he hasn’t seen action in over a year. He holds a notable win over current UFC fighter, T.J. Grant.

In his octagon debut, Natal’s first opponent was Ultimate Fighter alumn Rich Attonito at UFC Fight Night: Marquardt vs. Palhares losing the bout via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27). Natal was dropped in the first round in the bout with Attonito. He recovered well and even got takedowns but couldn’t do enough to win the decision.
