Ikuhisa Minowa vs. Satoshi Ishii at DREAM.16 this weekend in Nagoya, Japan

“Super Hulk” tournament champion, Ikuhisa Minowa was without an opponent until Olympic medal winner, Satoshi Ishii stepped up to become the last minute replacement for former PRIDE veteran, James Thompson at DREAM 16 this weekend in Nagoya, Japan.

The promotion made the announcement earlier today, just hours after it had been leaked on Japanese sports site Sponichi.co.jp and confirmed on Minowa’s blog. It’s thought the move has been made due to the lack of star power on the card, with both men firm favourites with the fans.

According to Ariel Helwani on Twitter, Thompson has touched down in Japan and has been made aware of the situation. DREAM officials are scrambling to find a replacement for the heavy handed Englishman.
