Goran Reljic becomes latest fighter to be released by the UFC

Croatian sensation, Goran Rejic has become the latest fighter to be released from the UFC roster after failed spells at both light heavyweight and middleweight.

The 26 year-old Reljic trains with the Gracie Barra UK camp. In 2007, Reljic swept the European Gracie Jiu Jitsu Championships by winning both the 93 kg and absolute categories. His UFC debut was at light heavyweight against Wilson Gouveia at UFC 84 where he won in the second round by TKO. He then dropped down to middleweight.

Reljic was injured and was forced out for 2 years, finally he made his return and faced C.B. Dollaway at UFC 110, making his middleweight debut. Reljic lost the fight via unanimous decision, with all three judges scoring the bout 29-28. Reljic then faced Kendall Grove at UFC 116 where he lost via judges’ split decision.

Reljic returned to the light heavyweight division and faced Krzysztof Soszynski at UFC 122 losing that fight via unanimous decision, ultimately ending his contract with the UFC.
