GSP vs. Josh Koscheck in Toronto, Ontario after sport becomes legal

The UFC welterweight title rematch between champion, Georges St. Pierre and challenger, Josh Koscheck looks set to go down in Toronto, Ontario at UFC 124 on December 11th, 2010 after the sport became legal in the province.

The promotion has made Toronto their number one pick to host the rematch, something that took a major step forward when Noble Chummar announced the legalisation of the sport earlier today.

UFC President, Dana White said this about the fight:

“If I could do it Toronto, believe me, I’d do it there in a heartbeat.”

St. Pierre is coming off a string of impressive wins inside the octagon, defeating the likes of Jon Fich, B.J. Penn, Thiago Alves and Dan Hardy without breaking as much as a sweat. As for Koscheck, he’s had to battle his way into title contention and is on a three fight winning streak after beating Frank Trigg, Anthony Johnson and Paul Daley.

The promotion recently opened an office in the city, making clear their intention to make Toronto their focal point in the Great White North. Fans can expect an official announcement in the come days from Dana White and the powers that be.
