Florian vs. Dunham headlines “UFC Fight for the Troops”, Mike Swick added

Former two-time tlightweight itle contender, Kenny Florian will face exciting prospect, Evan Dunham in the main event at the “UFC Fight for the Troops” event in Fort Hood, Texas on January 22nd, 2011. A welterweight clash between former top contender, Mike Swick and prospect, David Mitchell is also reported for the night.

Florian is looking to rebound from another disappointing defeat via decision at the hands of Xtreme Couture wrestler, Gray Maynard at UFC 118 in August. Prior to that he’d rebounded from his loss to BJ Penn picking up submission wins over Clay Guida and Takanori Gomi. Dunham’s undefeated streak came to an end when he lost a close split decision to former champion, Sean Sherk. Prior to that he held wins over the likes of Efrain Escudero and Tyson Griffin.

Swick has lost two fights in a row, the first to Dan Hardy at UFC 105 last November before coming up short against Paulo Thiago four months later. The veteran has also had problems with his health in that time, contracting severe spastic esophagus which severely restricted his diet. Mitchell made his octagon debut back in September at UFC Fight Night 22, losing via unanimous decision to T.J. Waldburger on the night.
