Dana White on potential Jon Jones title shot: “I’d like to see him get another year under his belt”

UFC President Dana White admits he is impressed with the young up-and-comer, Jon “Bones” Jones; however, White says he isn’t ready for a title shot just yet and maybe a year down the road is the best timeline.

White, speaking to MMAWeekly, said:

“I’d like to see him get another year under his belt. And in that year, before he got a shot at the title, he’d have to take out Rashad (Evans), Rampage (Quinton Jackson), possibly Shogun (Mauricio Rua) or (Lyoto) Machida, and then get the title shot. There aren’t many guys out there like this guy. God knows what this guy can do. It’s going to be interesting to watch.”
