Bellator FC Season 2 middleweight tournament adds Jared Hess and Sean Loeffler

Bellator Fighting Championships made two more noteworthy additions today Veteran middleweights Jared Hess and Sean Loeffler have been added to the upcoming middleweight tournament.

Hess (10-1-1), an NCAA All-American wrestler, last year made the final of Bellator’s inaugural 185-pound tourney before succumbing to Hector Lombard. He lasted until the fourth round against the heavily favored Lombard.

Loeffler (18-4) had his first professional MMA bout in 2000 and started fighting on a regular basis in 2006 for smaller promotions, most notably King of the Cage. Loeffler won his last six fights, five by submission. Two of his 18 victories came over fighters who currently have winning records, including a 1st-round submission of Christian Fulgium, who appeared briefly on Season 9 of The Ultimate Fighter.

Hess and Loeffler are the fourth and fifth confirmed participants in the eight-man middleweight tournament, joining Bryan “The Beast” Baker, Matt Major and Eric Schambari. Overall, the group boasts a combined winning percentage of .859 (55 wins, 8 losses and 1 draw).
