Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira needs surgery on his hips after having his ACL repaired

Former UFC and PRIDE champion, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira has revealed that he still requires surgery on hips after having his ACL repaired recently, something that will likely keep him sidelined until early summer 2011.

Big Nog, speaking via MMAWeekly.com, said:

“I tore my ACL so I had the surgery and it’s going to take maybe five to six months to heal.”

His manager, Ed Soares revealed the surgery on his hips will likely come in the next couple of weeks:

“He’s had surgery on his knee so far, and we’re waiting on when he’s going to do his hip surgery. Probably within the next couple weeks. I think realistically from the time he has surgery, they’re saying until he puts his foot in the ring it will probably be six months. I’m assuming late spring, early summer.”
