Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen II in the works for end of year fight card

A rematch for the UFC middleweight title between Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen appears to be in the works for the end of the year after the trash talking fighter from Oregon was granted an immediate rematch despite tapping in the fifth round at UFC 117 earlier this month.

According to Lance Pugmire of The Los Angeles Times, the rematch will go down on either the promotions New Year’s Eve or Super Bowl weekend card, which are normally held in Las Vegas.

Whether it will be the NYE or Superbowl card will rely on the recovery of the champion who reportedly has either bruised or broken ribs, depending on which reports you decide to believe.
