Anderson Silva reveals he wants to retire in the middleweight division

UFC middleweight champion, Anderson Silva has revealed that he do indeed want to retire as a middleweight fighter in the UFC, after months of speculation that he may move back to light heavyweight and even flirting with the idea of the heavyweight division.

Anderson, speaking at the UFC 117 conference call tonight, said:

“I like my weight division that I fight in, and I’m prepared to stay in my weight division.”

Soares cleared up the quote by “The Spider” adding:

“Basically, what he said is that he said I didn’t translate it exactly, but he wants to retire fighting in his weight category.”
