Anderson Silva needs to be training at least 10 weeks with his ribs not being hurt

The manager of UFC middleweight champion, Ed Soares has revealed Anderson Silva is still not 100-percent after suffering a rib injury preparing for his UFC 117 bout with Chael Sonnen.

Soares, speaking via MMAWeekly.com, said:

“His rib is still very tender, still very sore. It’s still a little bit sore, but it’s healing up. It’s still not 100-percent. He needs to be training at least 10 weeks with his ribs not being hurt. They’re still tender, it really hurts to throw his knees and stuff like that.”

“I think at this point we don’t know what date it’s going to be yet. It’s definitely going to be next year, we’re just not sure if it’s going to be on Jan. 1 or Super Bowl.”
